For the fourth time, a car flew from the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge off ramp and crashed into the same Queens Plaza location, the NY Post reports. This time it was a taxi that swerved into scaffolding in front of a row of shops at 4:52 p.m., fortunately no one was injured.

These crashes stared just as the bridge was named after a random mayor. Could it be the Ed Koch curse?

Last year, vehicles crashed into stores at Queens Plaza South and Crescent Street, killing a total of two people, one of whom was crushed when a vehicle landed on top of him.

In light of recent efforts to make the Bronx River Parkway safer following an April 29 crash that claimed the lives of seven people, it would seem the Queens ramp should get the same attention.

Besides, the city isn’t helping it’s case when it comes to a lawsuit filled by Villa de Beaute Hair Salon and Espinal Caribbean Restaurant II, two Queens Plaza businesses that have been shuttered since cars came careening into them. The city has tried to improve the ramp over the last year, adding new signs, rumble strips and flashing lights, but it doesn’t seem like their efforts have worked. Unless their goal is to pick up where NASA left off?
