Visit Flux Factory’s final weekend of the Bionic Garden
Veggies growing in midair, crops that tweet when they’re thirsty, and creepy biodegradation. This ingenious art exhibit puts plants where you’d least expect them in the city.
Rock out in the surf
Get to Rockaway for the 6th annual Rockstop and Barrels festival. Surf contests, skate board demos, and live music from 12-6PM at the beach.
See an action-packed sci-fi play performed at the Secret Theater
You can see SOVEREIGN, a “plot-driven epic” at the Secret Theater in LIC at 8PM Saturday or for a matinee at 3PM Sunday. The reviews have been pretty good and, hey, who doesn’t love alien melodrama?
Take the Ferry to Hunter’s Point and explore museums via bike
Rent a bike for $35/day once you’re off the ferry, bike between art museums and end with a walk through Gantry Plaza State Park. For a great weekend guide to Hunter’s Point, check out this week’s feature from BrooklynBased.
