Image soucre: Sculpture Center

On Saturday, Long Island City will host the inaugural LIC block party. This is a joint project by the Purves Street Block Association and SculptureCenter, and the party will feature live music, interactive performances, face-painting for the kids, and arts and activity projects for everyone.

The block party will have offerings from area restaurants, including Alobar, The Burger Garage, and LIC Market; Malu, the ice cream parlor known for its LIC-themed flavors, will debut a new “SculptureCenter” flavor. There will also be an Artist Market, where you will be able to check out and purchase functional art objects like works on paper and sculpture, as well as soaps, books, records and jewelry; the artists will receive 100% of the profits.
