Lunch Beat at Secret Theatre – At noon, head down to LIC’s Secret Theatre for this lunchtime dance party. For $12, you can get your choice of any two tacos or sliders from Mike-n-Willie’s gourmet truck parked right outside, and then head inside to rock out to the inspired and energetic jams of DJ Joro Boro.

Viva La Comida! – This block party at Elmhurst’s Dunningham Triangle (GMAP) is part of a campaign by the 82nd Street Partnership to improve and modernize the park. Executive director Seth Taylor and program associate Sofia Davila transformed the triangle into a one-day plaza three weeks ago, cleaning up the park, installing chairs, artwork, and getting feedback from residents about the triangle. This music and food festival will transform the area again for a day, and will involve local restaurants and food trucks. There will also be raffles and prizes.
