woodside-bakehouse-el-conejo-granola-bars

Sarah Peltier of Woodside Bakehouse named her granola bars “El Conejo” to connote rabbits and rabbit food (“conejo” means “rabbit” in Spanish). The bars are vegan and packed with healthy, mostly organic ingredients like coconut oil, sunflower seeds, and brown rice. Chewy and fresh, they taste way better and are more satisfying than your typical packaged snack food. And speaking of packaging, El Conejo bars are wrapped in biodegradable, compostable bags to make you feel even better about consuming them.

Peltier runs a one-person operation in Woodside, making and packaging the granola bars as well as peanut caramel corn, vanilla extract, and “Peanutella”—a gooey chocolate/peanut spread. When she launched Woodside Bakehouse, her products were only available at Rockaway Taco where she worked as a chef. That continues to be the only location that sells the goodies in Queens. The next closest place to find El Conejo bars is Brooklyn Standard, a natural food bodega, coffee shop, and deli in Greenpoint.

We hope Woodside Bakehouse decides to expand soon and bring its treats to more stores in NYC!
