Queens County Market Banner

As we mentioned a few weeks back, the October 2012 Queens County Market is taking place at Sac’s Place, an Italian restaurant in Astoria that features the cuisine of Abruzzo (GMAP), a region located about mid-way along the east coast of Italy. Sac’s will be participating that day, too, with a table, and they’ll also have a full bar and many tasty treats to offer (the gnocchi is fab).

Other vendors for the day include:

Carib Delights. They make cheese spreads made with sharp cheddar, herbs, spices, and vegetables.

The Chocolate Swirl. They make delicious cake pops, brownies, and mini-cupcakes, among other things.

Emeche Cupcakes. “Emeche” translates to tipsy in French, and their cupcakes are infused with different alcohols, such as Kahlua in their Espresso Martini Cupcake.

Malu. This excellent ice cream shop will be at the market with seasonal flavors like Apple Cider Cinnamon sorbet, Pumpkin Pie ice cream, and Sweetleaf’s Rocketfuel Coffee ice cream.

Mel’s Melting Pot. This company does their work at The Entrepreneur Space in LIC, and produces delicious fruit ketchups.

Mrs. Kim’s Kimchi. They’ll be selling their Napa Cabbage Kimchi and Soy Pickled Vegetables with jalapeños, Korean radish and garlic.

Sabba’s Spicery. They make spice blends from organic ingredients, which go well on fish, poultry, meats, and vegetables. The Southwest spice mix is particularly good.

Sol Sauce. Hot sauce is the name of the game here, and they use six peppers in theirs to make it irresistible to chili-heads and spicy food lovers.

Veda’s Cakes & Catering. Elmhurst-based Veda Sukhu makes wonderful Guyanese food, including chicken curry, bora (long bean) with coconut, and spiced banana cake.
