For months now, Terrizzi Pastry Shop has been closed. This stalwart of 30th Avenue (GMAP) has been around for about 45 years, making some of the best cannoli, pine nut cookies, and Lidia Bastianich loves coming here for their cassata. We also enjoyed their seasonal gelato.

So seeing them closed week after week, month after month, has been a surprise, since they seemed to be doing so well. Comments on a local message board have additional details: “First they said they were closed due to electrical problems, but that’s obviously not the cse. They are either under new managment, or they are remodeling.” Perhaps it is just a big remodel (though they did one in 2008).

We called Terrizzi and the phone has been disconnected. Their Facebook presence is gone. There’s a comment on Yelp stating that they are closed. Signs point to closing, but we are hopeful that they will be like the phoenix and rise again.
