Eating in Translation reports that a couple of folks at the Astoria mosque that participate in the summertime Indonesian food bazaar (the final one was this month) have opened a satay stall at the mosque that will be open for business year round. We understand that only heavy snow will shut them down. This is great new for those omnivores that love the food bazaar. We’ve had the satay and it is delicious.

The stall will have satay in lamb, beef and chicken, accompanied by peanut sauce and lontong (pressed rice cubes). The stall will be open from 12:30 to 2pm, or thereabouts, on Fridays to coincide with afternoon prayers. An image of the staty can be found here.
