Born in Bangladesh in 1931, spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy eventually made his home in Jamaica, where he influenced thousands with his philosophies on meditation, literature, music and art. He died on Oct. 11, 2007, but a vegetarian café inspired by his way of life, The Panorama of My Silence-Heart, lives on a few blocks from his home on Parsons Boulevard.

Panorama launches its Fall Arts Festival with Documentaries and Spoken Word, featuring films on poetry and sustainability followed by an open mic.
