We had heard rumblings that Woks and Lox – a food event that recognizes the gustatory bond between Asians and Jews on Christmas Eve – would be back this year, and they are! Last year was the first one and it was a huge success, so they’ve decided to do it again. It will be at the same location – The Queens Kickshaw in Astoria – and the same chef will be cooking – Chichi Wang – and it’s organized again by Jeff Orlick (who helped put Viva La Comida! together) and Veronica Chan (former community manager of the food site Gojee).

The format is similar to last year’s event, too. There’s a dinner and a nosh party – early bird tickets are going fast, so get them here.

Here’s the menu: We’ve learned that the menu on the website is from last year! The organizers are currently still putting the menu together. We’ll let you know what they come up with when we get the info.

Additionally, Singlecut Beersmiths will be brewing a custom Sichuan Peppercorn and Matzoh Lager just for Woks and Lox, and it will be on tap all night at The Queens Kickshaw.

Other festive activities that night include ladies playing mah jong, a Chinese Auction, and a few other fun things.
