Newtown Literary Journal is accepting submissions for issue #2

Newtown Literary – Queens’ first literary journal – made a big splash on the scene with their first issue, and now they are moving on to the next issue. They’ve issued a call for submissions, which ends February 28, 2013. Issue #2 will be out in March 2013.

What they will accept:

• Fiction
• Creative non-fiction
• Poetry (of any length – 5 poems max can be submitted)
• Novel excerpts (those that can stand alone)
• Essays about or related to Queens
• Essays related to the journal’s mission (celebrating a diversity of voices and experiences, especially those often not given space)
• Reviews of books written by Queens writers or have a Queens, NY focus

NB: genre fiction will not be accepted.
