Call it an “experimental performance party.” In late September, a cryptic email went out calling on friends and strangers to create or devise a work on the theme of “assembly” utilizing some, none or all of the six musicians from thingNY. The catch: all emails and submissions will be used in part or in whole. The result: SPAM v. 3.0, a multi‐room, multi-instrumental soiree celebrating the vibrant community of experimental artists and the diversity of creative amateurs. On Saturday, December 15, Flushing Town Hall will present SPAM v. 3.0, featuring world premiere chamber scores, devised theatrical work, scripts, graphic scores, songs, sounds, snacks, drinks and discussion. All 60‐plus new works and 100‐plus emails will be performed in some manner — sometimes simultaneously, sometimes more than once.
