Our friend Judith (author of the blog Fooditka and one of the writers for We Heart Astoria) told us last night about an amazing photoset published on Facebook recently by the folks at Floresta, a high end florist in LIC. We took a look and loved the final results. It’s also fun to see the process/behind the scenes shots, too.
The photoshoot was part of a project called Digital Death and it took place in 2010; celebrities sacrificed their digital lives (no tweeting, for one), encouraging their fans to “buy back their life” (see Buy Life). All was in conjunction with Keep a Child Alive, for which Alicia Keys is its Global Ambassador. All of this is connected to raising money for fighting HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Here’s a great shot of Serena Williams with some of Floresta’s flowers:

Thanks for the awesome shout-out, Meg! I love this shoot and love my tennis stars as well – the flowers are spectacular. Nice job, Floresta!
You’re welcome, Judith! And thank you for bringing it to our attention! Indeed, nice job, Floresta!
