On Tuesday, January 8, the Museum of the Moving Image kicks off a seven-film series that will screen the best movies of 2012 as selected by Chief Curator David Schwartz and Assistant Film Curator Rachael Rakes. Opening night will feature The Deep Blue Sea, an adaptation of an English play by Terence Rattigan about a woman who leaves a passionless marriage to a wealthy lawyer for a torrid affair with an emotionally troubled Royal Air Force pilot. Rachel Weisz, who was recently honored by the New York Film Critics Circle as Best Actress for her role in this movie, will be on hand during the screening. The series will continue until late February with movies from Hungary, Brazil, Iran, Korea and other countries.
