Forget about JDate for an afternoon. On February 12, the Capital Heights Lyric Opera will present a tribute concert to the Jewish love song at the Forest Hills Library. Founded in 2007, this group specializes in Bel Canto and Jewish music. Expect them to perform everything from the traditional (“Tum Balalaika“) to the U.S. immigrant era (“My Yiddishe Mame“) to Yiddish Theater (“Bei Mir Bist Du Sheyn“) to Tin Pan Alley (George Gershwin and Irving Berlin). They will also crank out a medley of solos, duets and staged excerpts from Yiddish films and Second Avenue musicals.
