The New York Hospital Queens (home of one of the first babies born in NYC in 2013) has issued a Call for Artists to “submit original acrylic paintings for installation in a new community art garden” – the garden will be the hospitals walls and hallways. Their hope is that the art will brighten the hospital for patients, staff and visitors.

NYHQ will even provided the canvasses for the artists on which their masterpieces will be created. There are certain topics the hospital would like artists to concentrate on, including healing, Queens, and diversity. The deadline is April 16 (in the main lobby) and 18 (outside the cafeteria).

Here’s the announcement:

This could be a great opportunity for an artist to have their works visible in a public place, all the while helping folks that are trying to get well. Sounds pretty awesome.
