Forget “politically correct,” these individuals are “super dooper multi-cultural.” The Theatre By The Bay is an inter-generational community performance group that holds constant auditions and strives to include actors of many races, religions, sexual orientations, disabilities and nationalities. The Bayside troupe also strives to present high-quality productions of Broadway plays, including Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie and Oliver. From March 2 through March 17, the theater puts on The Wizard of Oz with some creative twists by producer Lawrence F. Bloom and a special arrangement with the Tams-Witmark Music Library. If this show inspires the audience, try-outs for the next play, Guys and Dolls, begin on June 4.
