The NY Times City Blog spells it out in black and white – the Queens Museum of Art will change its name to simply Queens Museum, as part of their current expansion. They will change their logo, too, which is currently this:

The new logo is a mystery at this moment in time, but we will know soon enough. Check out some of the artist’s renderings of the new space as part of the construction. The expansion costs $65-million and 50,000-square-foot will be added to the Museum.

Tom Finkelpearl, the museum’s executive director, said “While this is a time of tremendous change for the Queens Museum, what will remain constant is our dedication to openness and engagement.”

And never fear, the Panorama of the City of New York is not going anywhere! Thank goodness.
