Closing Bell: Politicians Call For Full Gambling At Aqueduct Casino

Local business leaders and politicians are calling for full gaming tables at the Resorts World Casino at the Aqueduct Racetrack if a voter referendum legalizes them in November, the Queens Courier reports. Gov. Andrew Cuomo has previously said that an upstate casino would be the first to expand to full gambling if it is legalized, while it could be five years until Queens gets one. The Queens Chamber of Commerce, City Councilman Leroy Comrie, State Senator Joseph Addabbo and Assemblyman Phillip Goldfeder have touted the tourism and job creation benefits of adding more gambling tables, which could open as early as January 2014.
