Getting to Queens from Manhattan is easy. Getting from Brooklyn to Queens is another matter. Subway options are basically limited to the dreaded G train. Alternatives include a bus line or the ferry, which only goes from Williamsburg and Greenpoint. The Atlantic Cities took a look at history to explain the frustrating trend: Trolleys previously served the city’s two most populous boroughs, but they closed down in the 1930s and 1940s. The result is the system we have today.
