Star Nissan in Flushing is not endearing itself to local residents. The Queens Chronicle reports that the dealership, at 40-20 172 Street, hacked off branches of 21 young trees and received $84,000 in fines. Workers claimed that the lower branches were dangerous to pedestrians, according to a local group. The Parks Department planted the trees earlier this year. Residents have previously complained about noise and car traffic around the dealership. Nissan didn’t comment.
