Astoria Getting Its Own Independent Bookstore

Astoria will soon be getting its first a new independent book store. Located just a half-block away from the N/Q Broadway stop, Astoria Bookshop is slated to open in mid-August at 31-29 31st Street. The store will have a wide selection of print and e-books available, and the owners plan to host book clubs, writers groups, author signings, children’s story hours, and other events. Welcome to the neighborhood! GMAP

  • This is not Astoria’s “first” bookstore. Seaburn Books on Broadway barely closed a year ago.

  • (But this is still exciting!)

  • Cool! I’ve been wondering when a place like this would open in Queens. I’m actually not sure if there are any other independent bookstores in the borough. Anyone know of any? But this is great! Can’t wait to stop by once they’re open :)
