Carroll Gardens
Pardon Me for Asking notes that the Brooklyn Indie Market on Smith and Union won’t be returning this year. The seasonal market ran for four years. Also more deatils on the old Marius Cafe spot, via Carroll Gardens Patch: Bar Bruno is coming to Henry Street, a restaurant serving “classics like burgers and steaks… but also Mexican influenced dishes like fish tacos.” Finally, a new Thai restaurant replaces an old one on Smith Street, according to PMFA.

Williamsburg
Paper Mag checks out Lighthouse, which just opened in the South ‘Burg. According to them, “The moderately priced menu features a locally sourced raw bar (ceviche, crudo, shrimp cocktail), whole fish, grilled steaks, chops, and most uniquely, an extensive, housemade pickle bar.” Eater also notes Vine Wine will open this spring in the Brooklyn Kitchen space on Lorimer. It’ll sell organic, biodynamic and natural wines and run an educational program too. Over in Greenpoint, NYS reports that Upright Coffee will (hopefully!) open next week at 860 Manhattan Ave. She’s also heard some buzz that a coffee shop may be coming to 1011 Manhattan Ave.

Fort Greene
Rice’s Fort Greene location closed because its owners needed to fund a settlement brought about by a lawsuit former employees filed against the restaurant, says The Local. Nearby in Clinton Hill, Eater reports that Hill Cafe (pictured), which got signage late last year, is certified open.

Boerum Hill
Racked reports that “fit-obsessed swimsuit line” Malia Mills is opening shop at 375 Atlantic. Racked thinks it’ll be a nice addition to high end shopping on Atlantic Avenue for “time-pressed new moms.”

Park Slope
Here’s Park Slope shares some bad news that one of the last independent video stores in the neighborhood, The Video Forum, has called it quits. But Yogo Monster, which has been closed for the winter, is reopening Saturday and Bierkraft is opening a small beer garden April 16th. Hello, spring!

And in Midwood, a reader tells Lost City that Paskesz Kosher Candies, on 13th Avenue, has closed. The blog notes that the “Hungary-born company is a century old, but its products weren’t available in the U.S. until the 1950s.” Over in Ditmas Park, Ditmas Park Blog wonders about the fate of the “true dive bar” Nightcaps on Coney Island Avenue near Ave. H. A ‘For Rent By Owner’ sign has gone up in the window.
