Here’s an attractive prewar apartment for sale on the sixth floor of 77-35 113th Street in Forest Hills. The three-bedroom apartment has a corner exposure and original hardwood floors and other original details. The kitchen has been attractively renovated but the bathrooms feel a little dated. The monthly maintenance is $1,452 and the asking price is $555,000.

  1. Just because you don’t agree with me, that doesn’t mean I’m the only who would think that this apartment is in Kew Gardens. I think if you asked most people where the heart of Forest Hills is, they would say the area that surrounds the Austin Street/Continental business/shopping district. This apartment is nowhere near the Austin/Continental shopping district–it is about a 20 minute walk away from Austin/Continental. While the apartment is also not in the heart of Kew Gardens, it is a shorter walk to the heart of Kew Gardens (about 10 minutes) from this apartment than to the heart of Forest Hills.

  2. While the address of this apartment is technically in Forest Hills, I think most people would consider this apartment to be in Kew Gardens. It is many blocks away from the 75th Avenue subway station (one of the FH stations) and even further away fron the 71st/Continental station (the subway station that is in the heart of Forest Hills). And the apartment is only about one block away from the Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike subway station.

While this apartment is definitely more representative of the area than the $2 million listing that was featured on this site a couple of weeks ago, I think it is too far from the heart of Forest Hills (and the Austin Street business/shopping district) to be considered as a Forest Hills apartment.

    • The complex is Forest Hills South and it is certainly in Forest Hills. Kew Gardens doesn’t start until you go south of Union Turnpike (or the Interboro). I have to disagree with you and say that you are probably the only person who would think the apartment is in Kew Gardens.
