A local group is pushing for the next owner of the 97-year-old Ridgewood Theater to add a community performance space inside, Crain’s reported. The group, We Love Ridgewood Theater, has collected over 130 signatures on Change.org calling for a “ revitalized local performing arts venue that will highlight the history of the community while at the same time providing vital economic and social benefits.” Owner Associated Supermarkets is reportedly in contract to sell the property for $7 million. The landmarked building, at 55-27 Myrtle Avenue, will likely be converted to residential. GMAP
