mamak-queensFork in the Road went in search of Malaysian food and found the newly opened restaurant Mamak at 35-20 Farrington Street in Flushing. The owners previously operated a street cart in midtown called Mami Penang and opened this space, which serves lunch and dinner, last month. According to FITR, “Main courses are divided into “meals,” and seafood, meat, and vegetables share the spotlight. (Offerings are pork-free in keeping with Muslim practice.) You’ll find items like fish head curry, fried chicken, and Sambal shrimp. There are also interesting sides, like mee rebus mamak, a noodle dish, and pasembur salad, a mix of cucumber, potato, crab, and octopus. Has anyone tried it out?
