Here’s a family-size apartment at Elm Court. Features of this 1922 co-op include a fireplace, an elevator that opens directly into the unit, a sunroom and two bedrooms, a separate dining room, two bathrooms, and lots of closet space. What we particularly like about this apartment is that the foyer and main hallway have not been removed, which in our opinion makes the apartment appear more spacious. The kitchen also has what looks like 1930s cupboards going all the way up to the ceiling. We have a decorating plan for the kitchen: Keep the cabinets, add Deco style glass knobs, put in a white subway tile backsplash and wood counters, as well as a vintage stove and wood floors — and paint the walls a dark color. Elm Court has an attractive interior garden, low maintenance, and requires a 25 percent down payment. Do you think the sellers will get their ask of $586,888?

  1. I love this building and this apartment. Looks like the bathrooms need a redo and the kitchen needs a light upgrade, but otherwise it’s ideal. Looks like the last Elm Court 3 bd/2 ba sold for $515,000 in the fall–which is a total bargain imo.
