Astoria’s beloved Bareburger restaurant has some big, nationwide plans coming its way. In just four years since first launching at 33-21 31st Ave., Bareburger has grown into a chain of 14 restaurants across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens

According to DNAinfo, co-owner Euripides Pelekanos said Bareburger will have another 6 locations in the city by the end of 2013. By the end of 2014, they hope to add 15-20 restaurants in places like Long Island, New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Columbus, Ohio. “We didn’t have big plans or big intentions,” Pelekanos told DNAinfo about the restaurant’s original opening. But when Bareburger’s popularity soared, Pelekanos realized “we have something really, really awesome here.”

Most New Yorkers would probably agree.  GMAP

  1. It is unfortunate that once they started expanding locations, they also diminished in quality. I used to eat there once a week and now I hit it up once every 5 months or so. I understand the need to stream line ingredients for cost, but so much of what made it unique and not just another burger joint, has gone out the window.
