jack-heights-co-op
This Jackson Heights co-op, at 37-31 73rd Street, is asking $265,000. It’s a quite nice, straightforward, one bedroom apartment. The kitchen and bathroom look updated and everything else looks well maintained. So what do you make of that price?

  1. Deceptive Photo

I happen to live across the street from this property and can tell you that this photo is at least a couple of years old. There is a new building that is not shown in this photo to the left of this co-op.

As far as the neighborhood is concerned, prospective buyers should be made aware that this block contains 5 to 6 24 hour grocery stores catering to the Bangladeshi community. The vile stench of rotten food that permeates this block is enough to make anyone vomit while strolling down the street. If it wasn’t bad enough, you have 50-60 people loitering all night long while drinking tea and blocking the sidewalks and talking loudly. This activity is perfectly legal because this residential building happens to be in a commercially zoned block. Anyone that is interested in purchasing in this building will likely see his investment evaporate. I wonder why I am still living here.
