Long Island City gets an exciting new edition to its eating and drinking scene with today’s opening of Woodbines in the old Lounge 47 spot at 47-10 Vernon Boulevard. As LIC Post reported earlier this week, the gastropub is the fourth New York City restaurant from Pat Burke. (His other projects include the Courtyard in Sunnyside and the Kent Ale House in Williamsburg.) The new spot will have a dozen beers on tap and Irish pub food (scotch eggs, fish and chips, burgers, etc.) coming out of the kitchen. Regular Brownstoner Queens commenter LIC Joe, who was nice enough to snap a photo for us, had this to say about today’s opening: “I’m excited for this place!” GMAP
