Man, this has been a long time coming: the Food Bazaar Supermarket is scheduled to open at 42-02 Northern Boulevard next month, reports the Queens Gazette. The company announced it would move into the space almost a year ago and hoped to open by the beginning of 2013. The supermarket will feature an open food court, a fresh fish market, an in-store bakery, and a street-level and underground parking lot. The store covers a total of 61,500 square feet. Food Bazaar is replacing Pathmark, which closed in August of 2012 much to the ire of nearby Long Island City and Astoria residents.

Hi, shopped there when it opened and found it great for the size…. however, I missed the meat dept, didn’t realize it was a sharp right turn… but the variety, price and wide isles were terrific… going back again very soon

Anybody know what happened with this? There was a big sign on the building saying it was opening soon, and now the sign has been taken down and nothing seems to be moving at all.
Marco, I just read on Craigs List, a “Now Hiring” ad for Food Bazaar on 42nd. and Northern Blvd., posted on Nov. 4th., so it should be soon.
