City Releases RFP for Jamaica Coworking Hub

The city just released a Request for Proposals “from qualified individuals, organizations, or companies to develop, operate and maintain a co-working space, business incubator, or combination thereof in the Queens neighborhood of downtown Jamaica, with preference for locations on or proximate to Jamaica Avenue and/or Jamaica Station.” The New York City Economic Development Corporation will assist with funding for specific start-up costs and operating expenses. The NYCEDC is looking for proposals that include a well-managed work space with amenities and affordable rent, as well as a place that encourages local entrepreneurship and innovation. It must be a self-sustaining operation within three years. RFPs are due to the city by December 19th.
