It’s scary how many Halloween-related festivals will take place in Queens over the next 10 days. On tap are everything from costume contests (for humans and dogs, of course), haunted houses, enchanted walks and Dia de los Muertos celebrations. Here is a list of some of the free or low-cost fun.

Oct. 25, See It Big!, 7 pm, Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35th Ave., Astoria. Despite the availability of movies on portable devices and small screens, there is only one way to really see a scary movie: BIG! Enjoy the 1978 Halloween classic starring Jamie Lee Curtis. Free with MMI admission ($6-$12).

Oct. 25, 26 & 27, Halloween Haunted House, 4 pm-7 pm, Queens County Farm Museum, 73-50 Little Neck Pkwy., Floral Park. Hayrides, mulled cider, pumpkins and apples. The haunted house is recommended for children ages 4–12. Adults will find it creepy too! $4 with purchasable items.

Oct. 25 & 26, Haunted Lantern Tour, 6:30-8:30 pm, Fort Totten, 212th Street and Bell Boulevard, Bayside. Urban Park Rangers will lead a nighttime tour of the Civil War-era bastion’s battery. Expect frights mixed in with a history lesson.

Oct. 26, Second Annual Woodside Halloween Pet Parade and Festival, 11 am-2 pm, Windmuller Park, 52nd Avenue and 39th Drive. An afternoon of surprises including a costume contest, training workshops, grooming demos and giveaways. Free.

Oct. 26, Canine Costumes Carnival in the Rockaways, noon-2 pm, Freeway Dog Park/Beach 84, 83-02 Beach Channel Dr., Rockaway. Indulge your desire to dress up your pooch as a caped avenger. This costume contest for canines has carnival games, a photo booth and pet-friendly services. Free.

Oct. 26 & 27 and again Nov. 2 & 3, Dead or Alive, 1 pm-6 pm, New York Hall of Science, 47-01 111th St., Corona. Pumpkin chucking, live wolves and bats and Frankenstein-like projections are part of the fun at this two-weekend celebration of Halloween and the Day of the Dead. $8 child/$11 adult.

Oct. 26 & 27, Boo at the Zoo!, 11 am-4 pm, Queens Zoo, 53-51 111th St., Corona. Get ready for spine-tingling surprises as the animals receive scrumptious Halloween treats. Enjoy face-painting, trick-or-treating and a spooky animal presentation. $8; free for costumed children under 12 with an adult.

Oct. 27, Children’s Fall Festival, 11 am to 4 pm, Queens County Farm Museum, 73-50 Little Neck Pkwy., Floral Park. Costumes, games, haunted house, pony rides, petting zoo, professional character look-a-likes, craft vendors, food, country western music and dancing. $5.

Oct. 27, Costume Party Fun Run 5k Presented by Astoria Energy, 9 am. The course includes two loops around beautiful Astoria Park and participants are urged to wear their scariest and most creative costume. $20/$15 for high school and college students with ID. Register at http://bit.ly/1cCyqyt.

Oct. 30, Halloween Family Fun, 5 pm to 7 pm,  Voelker Orth Museum, 149-19 38th Ave., Flushing. The goblins extend an invitation to join them for some merriment. The spooky spirits will be on the grounds with their trick-or-treat pranks. Enjoy crafts, not-too-scary-stories and surprises. $2 (infants are free).

Oct. 30, Haunted Halloween Hike, 6:30 pm-8 pm, Alley Pond Environmental Center, 228-06 Northern Blvd., Douglaston. Spooky trail walk, ghost stories, hot chocolate and a dress rehearsal for Halloween costumes. Bring a flashlight and a lot of courage. Please pre-register at 718-229-4000.

Oct. 31, Trick-or-Treat around the Zoo, 3 pm–4:30 pm, Queens Zoo, 53-51 111th St., Corona. Tick-or-treat around the zoo and enjoy up-close encounters with the animals. Spooky animal presentations at 1:30 pm and 3 pm. $8; free for children under 12 wearing a costume and accompanied by an adult.

Oct. 31, Halloween Remixed, 4 pm, Flushing Town Hall, 137-35 Northern Blvd., Flushing. Celebrate Dia de los Muertos, Halloween and All Saints Day with hands-on, festive fun for all ages. Wear a costume and join in for mask making, All Saints Day medallions, Mexican sugar skulls and ghost stories.

A Oct. 31, A Haunting We Will Go, 3:30 pm-5:30 pm, Cedar Grove Playground, Cedar Grove Avenue at Waterside Street, Flushing. An afternoon of excitement and frightfully good fun awaits. Come out and enjoy various Halloween crafts, a costume contest and haunted events and games.

Oct. 31, 23rd Annual Jackson Heights Halloween Parade, 5 pm, along 37th Avenue from 89th Street to 76th Street, Jackson Heights. Everyone’s invited to the second-largest Halloween parade in New York City. It’s all about the kids and their costumes…and a few over-the-top grown-ups. Free.

Nov. 1, RW Haunted Halloween Concert and Party, 9 pm, Resorts World Casino NYC, 100-00 Rockaway Blvd., South Jamaica. Live performances by Taylor Dayne and Exposé. Come ready for a costume contest, prize giveaways and much more. $20.
