SizzleMe Steakhouse, a Filipino-style steak restaurant, opens tomorrow at 6916 Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside. DNAinfo profiled the new spot, which features a menu of traditional Filipino dishes with modern twists. Jun Fernandez, the owner of the eye-glass shop across the street, teamed up with Joshua Smookler, a restaurant consultant and chef, to open the place. They plan to host special seatings at the counter on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays where they offer unique menu items and guests eat with their hands. The first seating is planned for tomorrow at 5pm and there’s already a good review up on Yelp.

Can’t wait to try! Most Filipino Restaurants just do their own versions of traditional dishes. Very happy to hear they’re doing Filipino cuisine with a modern twist.
