LIC Eateries, a collection of Long Island City-based restaurants, is hosting an “angel trees” project until this Monday to collect gifts for kids in the shelter system. DNAinfo has more details, saying that eight restaurants are participating: Masso, Sage General Store, Manducatis Rustica, Alobar, Woodbines, The Creek and The Cave, Alewife NYC and Tournesol. Each restaurant is currently displaying paper angel ornaments with information for a child on each one. Visitors can pick up ornaments and anonymously buy presents for the kid they’ve selected. Many of the participating restaurants are giving free entrees to those who can deliver angel tree gifts before Monday; those who drop off presents on Monday will get a complimentary drink at the bar.
