forest-hills-greenmarket-extension

The Forest Hills Greenmarket, originally slated to close for the season on December 29th, will likely extend its run year-round. Edge of the City picks up on a few signs that the market will continue, including word from one of the market organizers. There’s also a petition going around to keep it running — if you’d like to sign it, stop by the Greenmarket’s information table on Sunday and ask about the petition.

  1. If this happens, it is great news for Forest Hills.
Since it started about a year and a half ago, the FH green market has been a great addition to the neighborhood. It has obviously also been very successful–every time I’ve gone there, there are crowds of people shopping at many of the vendor booths. And there are some very high quality vendors that participate–including Red Jacket Orchards, Bread Alone, Ronnybrook Farm Dairy and Andrew’s Local Honey.
