The NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development is now accepting applications for the Norman Towers, an affordable mixed-use and mixed-income development located in downtown Jamaica. The development consists of two nine-story towers fronting 160th and 161st Streets between Jamaica Avenue and 90th Avenue. There will be 5,311-square-feet of commercial space and 4,525-square-feet of retail space. The city issued applications for 100 rental units — studios, one bedrooms and two bedrooms. Monthly rents range from $500 for a studio to $1,700 for a two bedroom; annual income restrictions range from $19,406 to $134,240. The full income guidelines are outlined here [PDF]. Applications are due by March 24th, 2014, and you can apply to live in this development through the city’s Housing Connect website.
