Closing Bell: Ribbon Cutting for New Mural at Main Street-Flushing LIRR

The community group One Flushing posted the above photo of a recent ribbon cutting held at the Main Street-Flushing Long Island Rail Road Station. The 40th Road entrance now boasts the community mural “Flushing’s World Fair.” According to One Flushing, “The mural seeks to beautify Flushing and support the business community’s demand for greater infrastructure investment. Volunteers cleaned up and provided an additional clear coating to protect the mural from vandalism and pollution.” Local businesses and community members raised funds to install the work, designed by the artist Lady Pink.
