Hibino-LIC-opening

Sweet! One of our favorite Brooklyn sushi joints is expanding to Queens. Grub Street notes that Hibino, a Cobble Hill sushi restaurant known for its amazing homemade tofu, will open another restaurant at 10-70 Jackson Avenue this month. The LIC expansion has been a long time coming — the restaurant first announced its plans in the summer of last year with an expectation to open in November. The restaurant will hold 11 tables and 26 seats. The Hibino LIC website is pretty short on details but we’ll keep an eye out for an exact opening date… UPDATE: It’s already open! We missed this report by LIC Post that Hibino LIC opened on Thursday and is now serving six days a week, Monday through Thursday 5:30 pm to 10 pm and Friday through Saturday, 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm. For now, it’s BYOB and cash only. As a commenter says of the new spot: “Great food, friendly service.”
