11-51-47th-Street-rendering

Man, it’s getting hard to keep track of everything slated to rise in Long Island City. Here’s the latest:

  • YIMBY interviewed Sam Charney, a developer previously with Two Trees. He now has his own company, Charney Construction and Development, and is planning to build a 70,000-square-foot condo project (rendered above) right around the corner from PS1, at 11-51 47th Avenue. The development will have one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Charney is also in contract for two additional condo development sites in LIC.
  • The Court Square Blog noticed that the foundation is coming in at 22-22 Jackson Avenue, the future site of an 82-unit mixed use building. You can check out a rendering of that one here. Also, Court Square Blog snapped a few photos of the expansion of the Court Square Library into the Citibank space. It looks like the project is on track to finish by late spring or summer.
  • Finally, YIMBY spotted a rendering of the Packard Square West development at 41-21 24th Street. The 64,219-square-foot, eleven-story residential building will hold 88 units. The developer is Perkins Eastman, who plans to wrap this project in the fall of 2015.
