Amzi is right. I was on Macon St. between Marcy and Nostrand last week and I saw 2 very nice looking houses (from the outside at least) for sale with no-name broker signs. That’s a lovely block, around the corner from the Nostrand stop on the A train.
Ugh, Bainbridge reno, whyyyy? And I second (third, eighteenth) the call for more affordable open house picks on Brownstoner!

Amzi, you are so right. Isn’t there a way to stop them? A required HPD class in “how to maximize profit on your flip while preserving historic details buyers love.”
There’s an awesome flipper in California who is doing this. More on that later….
Duhh, mopar, those were *originally* the bricks that were behind the plaster walls!
the other option, radical as it may seem, is to extend your house
search outside of Brooklyn. You will be amazed at how many lovely houses there are for under 800 grand.
Playing both sides of the fence I see.
