Join the LIC Partnership for Its 27th Annual Trade Show and Luncheon

On Thursday, November 13, the Long Island City Partnership is hosting its 27th Annual Trade Show and Luncheon. The event, which will highlight the neighborhood’s exceptional economic growth over the past year, as well as its diverse mixed-use business landscape, is bringing over 100 exhibitors and thousands of attendees together. It’s an opportunity to network and celebrate the wide range of Long Island City businesses, which covers everything from construction, catering, commercial banking, leasing to cultural institutions, city and state business assistance, and continuing education.

Last year’s exhibitors included major companies like Citibank and JetBlue Airways; local businesses like LIC Flea & Food, John Brown Smokehouse, and Queens Theater; and community organizations such as Sunnyside Community Services and the Newtown Creek Group. The exhibitors will be joined by 350 civic and business leaders speaking about LIC’s growing importance to the economy of New York. Attendees will gain insight as to how the neighborhood was transformed into a vibrant commercial sector.

The luncheon will honor two of LIC’s most prominent businessmen: TF Cornerstone’s K. Thomas Elghanayan, Chairman and CEO, and Frederick Elghanayan, President and CEO. TF Cornerstone recently wrapped a ten-year, $1.4 billion undertaking to bring luxury housing to the Long Island City waterfront. They will provide insight not only on housing development in the area, but also the growth of Gantry Park and the emergence of events like the LIC Flea and LIC Arts Open. The LIC Partnership will also award Joseph Conley, Chairman of Community Board 2, with this year’s William D. Modell Community Service Award, recognizing his work in shaping the neighborhood.

For many years the Partnership held the event in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, but this year it’s located right in the heart of the LIC/Astoria area, at the Astoria World Manor [GMAP]. “The annual Trade Show and Luncheon is an incredible celebration and exhibition of the diverse companies here in Long Island City and Western Queens,” says LIC Partnership President Elizabeth Lusskin. “After years of a successful event in Flushing-Meadows, we look forward to welcoming this event back to the LIC-Astoria area, bringing in new businesses along with our continuing exhibitors.”

While the Trade Show is free to attend, and there is no registration required, advanced registration to the exhibit and tickets to the luncheon are required. Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of this exciting, booming neighborhood.
