until pretty recently, you could see a wall or two like this on fourth avenue somewhere around st. marks. my camera’s been dead, but i hope somebody got a shot of it.
has anyone here ever heard of Rachel Whiteread? check this out, she cast the interior of a Victorian terraced house in england:

Always amazed how the remnants of plaster walls hold up on those buildings, even when exposed to the elements long periods of time.
