Tomorrow night from 7 to 9 pm, check out the WPA-sponsored Don’t DEMO Domino Bake Sale and Q & A at the City Reliquary at 370 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg.
The building in the picture is not in bushwick. It was along the J line in the nameless neighborhood that lies North of BedStuy, East of “South Williamsburg” and and south of “East Williamsburg”.
I was a bit sad to see it go but I knew it would eventually go since everything in this area is being torn down to create inward facing multiple family buildings.
In the right light and angle it looks good. Unfortunately it often looks like a cheap plastic kid’s toy.
RE: the Gehry building on West Chelsea…..
The general consensus on gothamist is right…..the structure doesn’t look so bad…by which I mean its inoffensive….However, the frosted white glass is horrific……it looks cheap and tacky……like something built for a film set rather than a permanent structure.
