The gorgeous library at The Oracle Club in LIC – lots of books!

It’s always fun to hear what people are reading these days. So what have you read lately? Are you a book fiend? Devoted to magazines (newsy and trashy alike)? Or maybe you’re fully online and you primarily read content on the web? Let us know – leave us a comment here or via twitter at @queensnycity!

White Bear Dumplings

White Bear wontons are amazing

So, we’ve asked about Mexican food and Thai food, and now we’re moving on to Chinese food, which of course is a big deal in Queens, especially Flushing. There are a lot of places to choose from. Where do you like to eat Chinese food? Any region is welcome. And do you prefer Chinese street food, fancy sit down, or hole in the wall? Or are you more of a Golden or New World Mall kind of person? We’d love to know – leave us a comment here or via twitter at @queensnycity!

Over the weekend we were perusing old NY World’s Fair photos and we got to wondering… would you like to see another World’s Fair in NYC? And if so, where? Flushing Meadows Park again? Somewhere else? It’s a fun thing to think about. The next one will be Expo 2015 in Milan, Italy. Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments or via twitter at @queensnycity!

Well, today is the day – Pi Day. It’s March 14, therefore 3/14 (pi is, of course, 3.14 etc). Are you celebrating Pi Day today? And are you celebrating with pie? Let us know if you like to geek out on the day (and what kind of pie you’ll be eating, if any) – leave a comment here or via twitter at @queensnycity!

Another great element besides the food and service at an establishment, is the music. Sometimes the music playing in the background can really elevate an experience (or cause it to come tumbling down if the music is bad). So where do you like to go where they have great music? And do you prefer it live or recorded? Leave us a comment here or via twitter at @queensnycity.

We were musing on the elements that make a great restaurant  - nice atmosphere, delicious food… and good service. Good service really stands out. So where do you find you get good service? And does it make you want to return to that place of business? Leave us a comment here or via twitter at @queensnycity!

Ayada’s crispy catfish salad, total yum

A few weeks back we asked, “Where do you find good Mexican food?” and we got some great answers and suggestions for places to check out around the borough (especially in Jackson Heights, Corona, and Astoria). Now we’re moving onto Thai, as Thai restaurants are pervasive throughout Queens. So where do you like to eat Thai food? And what’s your favorite dish? Bonus points for Queens restaurants, of course. Leave us a comment here or via twitter at @queensnycity!
