Arverne Library Reopened in the Rockaways

Yesterday, Arverne Library reopened in the Rockaways — the public library has been shuttered since Hurricane Sandy. The space, located at 312 Beach 54th Street, has been fully refurbished with new computers, new furniture and new décor. It also boasts an updated collection of new books, videos and other library materials. The modular building where the library operated during the rebuilding will remain in place and temporarily house an Adult Learning Center, offering adult education and job skills services. We’re trying to get more photos of the renovated interior and will update the post when it happens. And stay tuned… a grand opening celebration for the community will be scheduled in the near future. GMAP
