BORO Magazine has a great event planned – it’s a party that’s a fundraiser for the Western Queens Compost Initiative (WQCI), a program of the well-regarded Astoria reuse facility Built It Green! (they also have a location in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn). WQCI’s mission is to “increase capacity for, acceptance of, and participation in composting in western Queens. We provide composting infrastructure for Greenmarkets, CSA’s, community gardens, an urban farm and public events. Our compost is used to grow food, feed trees, and beautify public spaces.”

The party will be at Break, a popular place for pool on Astoria’s bustling Broadway thoroughfare in the heart of Astoria, on Wednesday, September 19 from 7-10pm. Here’s the poster for the event. Note that space is limited.
