Bowne-House-Visitor-Center-Rendering1

The Landmarks Preservation Commission posted its latest meeting agenda for November 26th and it includes an item for the historic Bowne House property. The application states: “Application is to construct a new building on the site, alter pathways, and install fencing.” A rendering of the new building, a visitor center, actually emerged earlier this month. The 1,250-square-foot center includes a gallery, lobby, two restrooms and an office. The facade has a wood-like look with American Cedar sliding barn doors. Once the LPC and the State Historic Preservation Office approve the design, it’ll take two years to build.
