Build It Green!NYC, the New York City retail outlet for salvaged building materials, just launched BIG!Workshops for the spring in its Gowanus location. It’s a collection of low-cost, do-it-yourself classes with the aim of creating things with reusable materials. The first workshop, which will teach kids how to make “junk” shadow puppets, starts on Saturday, April 13. The three following workshops focus on making terrariums with Gowanus-based Twig Terrariums, pinatas, and modern art mosaic designs. Classes range from $45 to $65 and they all take place at the Gowanus location at 69 9th Street. Sign up for workshops right here. You can also propose a class idea here.
