It’s been 12 months of snarky heckles and really bad movies. Now it’s time to celebrate. Every Thursday for the past year, the Laughing Devil Comedy Club has hosted Devil Science Theater 3000. It’s simple. The venue screens the worst flicks ever made, while audience members loudly mock the scenes in a contest to be Director’s Worst Nightmare, a title that comes with swag, microphone privileges and bragging rights. This Thursday, DST3K will throw an anniversary bash by inviting back all the Director’s Worst Nightmare winners to help the audience critique a lowlight collection of movie scenes and trailers. Expect lobster monsters, polyester ape suits, zombies with limited acting skills and some horribly choreographed Kung Fu moves. Details: Devil Science Theater 3000 Anniversary Party, Laughing Devil Comedy Club, 47-38 Vernon Boulevard, LIC, June 27, 10:30 pm – 1 am, $6.

LGBT and DST3K hit the LDCC in LIC. The Laughing Devil Comedy Club hosts two holiday shows on one night this Thursday, December 13. At 8 pm, world-famous gay funnyman Exiene Lofgren (Ricki Lake Show, Pawn Stars, Starwood Resorts) headlights a night of Christmukkah humor during the Queens of Queens LGBT Long Island City Laugh-Fast. Also making the menorah candles twinkle will be Adam Sank (Last Comic Standing), Leah Bonnema (recently listed among the Huffington Post’s 50 Funniest Females) and mistress of ceremonies Joanne Filan (Hot Gay Comics). At 10:30 pm, another round of jokes will be served during Devil Science Theater 3000. Totally interactive, this hour of wisecracking gets professional comedians in the crowd to egg on attendees as they play drinking games and watch the terrible 1962 movie King Kong vs. Godzilla.
